All UCLA Health Care Clinical Staff
InfoChart, the clinical web portal user interface, is being created to leverage the enterprise Single Sign-On to provide access to clinical data relevant to that user’s role. This will be a rudimentary tailored user interface for physicians, nurses and administrators, but the primary value is that it will provide the infrastructure for more advanced tailored user interfaces that can be developed quickly and more easily.

Pediatric Hematology and Oncology
Their Patient Notes System (PNS) is a note authoring tool for sharing notes among residents and attendings. The system utilizes enterprise authentication and connects to CNEX services for delivering lab and admission data, as well as sending notes to the CNEX document repository. PNS can be customized for each user to personalize the physical exam vocabulary used in creating a note.

Geriatrics
Extensive work was done to prepare an interface for the Geriatric Division. Observations of clinic processes were conducted to obtain an accurate understanding of existing workflow. Users at all levels of authority were engaged to refine the interface development. Due to unexpected technical issues, the Geriatrics tailored user interface project has been placed on hold. However, the principles of user-centered design that governed the Geriatrics project, as well as lessons learned, have been translated into planning for implementation of InfoChart.
